The God who sees ME

The God who sees ME

El Roi is my favorite name of God because it means the God who sees. He sees me. He wants to have a relationship with me and wants to know every detail of me life even though He is KING of the Universe. He is so good to me. He is my Lord and Savior. Nothing shall separate me from His love. He is All that I need and MORE!

Thoughts on Modesty

1 Timothy 2:9-10, NLT
"I want women to be modest in their appearance. They should wear decent and appropriate clothing and not draw attention to themselves by the way they fix their hair or by wearing gold or pearls or expensive clothes. For women who claim to be devoted to God should make themselves attractive by the good things they do."

Not only do we need to dress modestly, but are actions should be how Christ acted: self-less, and humble. Put off- immodest, Put on- Christ's actions. Are we living self-lessly? Who are we "dressing up"?

Philippines 2:3-8, The Message
"Don't push your way to the front; don't sweet-talk your way to the top. Put yourself aside, and help others get ahead. Don't be obsessed with getting your own advantage. Forget yourselves long enough to lend a helping hand. Think of yourselves the way Christ Jesus thought of himself. He had equal status with God but didn't think so much of himself that he had to cling to the advantages of that status no matter what. Not at all. When the time came, he set aside the privileges of deity and took on the status of a slave, because human! Having become human, he stayed human. It was an incredibly humbling process. He didn't claim special privileges. Instead, he lived a selfless, obedient life and then died a selfless, obedient death– and the worst kind of death at that: a crucifixion."

Proverbs 31:30
"Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised."

Beauty is truly NOTHING. It will not last. Think of how many times, you thought you looked beautiful, then the next day or even moments later, felt no prettier than pig. Now think of how many times you've done something good for someone and just felt like soaring. In reality, we can't even compare them! In other words, adorn Christ and not ourselves. These verses really hit me today as I thought about what I would wear to Church. Sometimes I just want to feel pretty. That is when I should remember to adorn Christ and not myself! Let us adorn our Savior today with the highest of honor and praise.
