The God who sees ME

The God who sees ME

El Roi is my favorite name of God because it means the God who sees. He sees me. He wants to have a relationship with me and wants to know every detail of me life even though He is KING of the Universe. He is so good to me. He is my Lord and Savior. Nothing shall separate me from His love. He is All that I need and MORE!

Christmas focus

This morning, the pastor talked about our focus on Christmas. Are the we so focused in the "traditions" of Christmas that we no longer remember the One who started Christmas!? He was, He IS, and He is to come. We scurry about preparing for Christmas and forget that it is most important to prepare for the second coming. Our lives need to be focused on eternal things and heavenly treasure!

After I thought about it, I realized that with this Christmas I had already been focused on what it could give ME. My sister asked me why I was excited about Christmas, and you know, I listed all these things that made me feel "comfortable," that made me feel loved, that me happy, that made me feel secure! Of course, I didn't say the obviously selfish thing of getting gifts, but I did say "selfish" things for the fact that they benefit me.

We all are preparing for Christmas in one way or another. What preparations were necessary for Christ's birth? We usually think of King Herod's obsession with ruling power, or the tax collecting in Bethlehem, or Mary's pure heart, or Joseph's selfless obedience to God, were the main preparations for Jesus' birth. However, we don't realize that God HIMSELF started preparing before the world was formed! He had it all in his master plan. He did the preparing. You can't have Christ's second coming without Christ's birth. And He knew that.

Are we willing to do what is necessary for the 2nd coming?
Standing Alone,
Looking Vertically to God for identity,
Willing to go wherever.

All these things are NOT fun or pleasant, or self-building. In fact, they are painful, but necessary to build us into a more Christ-like character and prepare us for the second coming.

Are we willing to get our focus off ourselves and onto Him? Are we willing to lay up treasure in Heaven, starting with those hard things?

Praise God that it's Him working and preparing and NOT us, because it IS impossible on our end. We can rest and Hope in Him, that He is working in our life and molding us into a beautiful creation for Him.

Christmas bulb

On another note, this is a fun dyi for Christmas. Cut up a couple crayons and pop them into a clear bulb then put the lid on and heat it with a hair dryer. When the crayon melts it makes a beautiful bulb!

I got this the other day from a sweet friend, so I thought I'd post it. It's so comforting! God loves us SOOO much!

"Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning." Psalm 30:5

"Let Sorrow do its work, send grief or pain;
Sweet are thy messengers, sweet their refrain.
If they but work in me, more love, O Christ, to thee,
More love to thee, more love to thee."

"Behold me! I am thy little handmaiden Acceptance-with-Joy."

"O my Lord, behold me--I am thy little handmaiden Bearing-the-Cost."

"I will write upon her a new name, the name of her God. The Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from those who walk uprightly." Psalm 84:11

My Princess,

Don't get discouraged, My beloved; pain is a part of life. But I promise you that I will turn every tear you've cried into joy, and I will use your deep pain for a divine purpose.

Don't try to hide your hurts from Me. I know everything about you. You are Mine, My beloved! I'm the only one who can handle your heart and restore you to health and wholeness again. I, too, have felt great pain, rejection, and anger. But we can go through every trial together. Hand in hand I will lead you back to My place of peace and joy after the storm. The sun will shine on you again, and your heart will be healed.

I promise you, My Princess, that when you go through deep waters of great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression you will not be burned.

Your King and your Healer

Believing God for His Best - Book Review

I have been reading Believing God for His Best by Bill Thrasher. It's about how to be content being single. Included in this book are personal testimonies and his own testimony. I've really benefited from the practical writings in this book. God has used it to encourage me as I continue to live single focused on God. I would recommend this book as a must read!

I thought this quote about waiting on God was very profound.  "Based on what you know, trust God for what you do not know." -Ravi Zacharias

I've been so fascinated with all these gorgeous hairstyles. This one is SO easy, and it looks so elegant. You just french braid starting from the left there and working to the right, all the while, splitting the left section in half while you go.

Ok, I learned something cool the other day... There are so many aspects to LOVE. It's not as shallow as we think in our heads where we're all holding hands in a circle. No, it means faithfulness, longsuffering, listening, caring, giving, not fearing, not judging, not hating. WOW...Well the other day, I learned the one about not fearing. I was on some trip and driving, minding my own business and all and all of a sudden my lane ends! I was like, "Ahh! get over!!" I swerved into the other lane and barely missed this other car. Later on, they got around me and turned off on an exit while rudely giving me the finger. I was thinking, "now why give me the finger, when I was forced to merge without warning!" At first I was almost worried they would follow me to wherever. Then I realized that what if I were like the heavenly man, prisoner being tortured. He loved them. But HOW? Perfect love casts out fear, and that fear is also fear of man. God tells us to "love our enemies." That means not being afraid of people because when we love our enemies we can't fear them! That was a really neat concept God showed me. Just one more meaning of Love.... He is Love too btw! :D

"Lust cannot wait to get and love cannot wait to give"
"Love is not love unto you give it away"
