The God who sees ME

The God who sees ME

El Roi is my favorite name of God because it means the God who sees. He sees me. He wants to have a relationship with me and wants to know every detail of me life even though He is KING of the Universe. He is so good to me. He is my Lord and Savior. Nothing shall separate me from His love. He is All that I need and MORE!

Christmas focus

This morning, the pastor talked about our focus on Christmas. Are the we so focused in the "traditions" of Christmas that we no longer remember the One who started Christmas!? He was, He IS, and He is to come. We scurry about preparing for Christmas and forget that it is most important to prepare for the second coming. Our lives need to be focused on eternal things and heavenly treasure!

After I thought about it, I realized that with this Christmas I had already been focused on what it could give ME. My sister asked me why I was excited about Christmas, and you know, I listed all these things that made me feel "comfortable," that made me feel loved, that me happy, that made me feel secure! Of course, I didn't say the obviously selfish thing of getting gifts, but I did say "selfish" things for the fact that they benefit me.

We all are preparing for Christmas in one way or another. What preparations were necessary for Christ's birth? We usually think of King Herod's obsession with ruling power, or the tax collecting in Bethlehem, or Mary's pure heart, or Joseph's selfless obedience to God, were the main preparations for Jesus' birth. However, we don't realize that God HIMSELF started preparing before the world was formed! He had it all in his master plan. He did the preparing. You can't have Christ's second coming without Christ's birth. And He knew that.

Are we willing to do what is necessary for the 2nd coming?
Humility,
Brokenness,
Standing Alone,
Looking Vertically to God for identity,
Willing to go wherever.

All these things are NOT fun or pleasant, or self-building. In fact, they are painful, but necessary to build us into a more Christ-like character and prepare us for the second coming.

Are we willing to get our focus off ourselves and onto Him? Are we willing to lay up treasure in Heaven, starting with those hard things?

Praise God that it's Him working and preparing and NOT us, because it IS impossible on our end. We can rest and Hope in Him, that He is working in our life and molding us into a beautiful creation for Him.

Christmas bulb

On another note, this is a fun dyi for Christmas. Cut up a couple crayons and pop them into a clear bulb then put the lid on and heat it with a hair dryer. When the crayon melts it makes a beautiful bulb!
