The God who sees ME

The God who sees ME

El Roi is my favorite name of God because it means the God who sees. He sees me. He wants to have a relationship with me and wants to know every detail of me life even though He is KING of the Universe. He is so good to me. He is my Lord and Savior. Nothing shall separate me from His love. He is All that I need and MORE!

Death of Christ- Reflections

My reflections on the Death of Christ and what that means to me!

The death of Christ really starts with the way He humbled Himself even before the cross. Isaiah 53 explains what He went through to humble Himself and bear our griefs and carry our sorrows, and be smitten and afllicted. It says He was not comely, He was the despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief, and we esteemed Him not. By His stripes we were healed, He was as the sheep going to the slaughter, and He was cut off from the land of the living. In Phil 2:7-8  it also describes how much He humbled Himself. Just wrapping my mind around the first list was mind boggling, but He literally took the lowest of the low. He humbled Himself even unto the death of the cross and was separated from the Father. He became sin for us (2 Corinthians 5:21). Just did this all out of love for us! That we could too be crucified with Him, and the flesh that has enslaved us might die on that cross (1 Peter 3:18), so that we might receive His Holy Spirit that literally lives in us and through us and that we would be brought to God. He destroyed the devil who had the power of death as well (Hebrews 2:14). Jesus literally tasted death for every man (Hebrews 2:9).

Christ did all of this to free us first from the penalty of sin, but also that problem of sin. Flesh had a very strong bond on us and we were enslaved. Romans 6:2-6 shows us very clearly that the old man was crucified and therefore made us free in Christ, through His death. How rich the meditation. The death must come first though. Through that death, burial and resurrection we can now live with Him. Verse 11 tells us to reckon this, old man dead! The death is the foundational truth of the gospel that Paul emphasizes when he says that he did try to know more than Christ and Him crucified. What happened at the cross and what does it mean to me? In death, is a very strong picture. There’s nothing deader than death, so when my old man died, I was completely separated from it. Just as Christ died and took in the sin of the world, so He took my sin too. He was crucified with MY old man. The Old Kim is dead on the cross. I was buried with Christ and now I’m risen with Him. Sin has no more hold on me and this is truly freedom in Christ.
